I have heaps of coffee beans at home, and I am too lazy to brew my daily cup of morning coffee so thought of making cold brew out of ’em beans instead. Cold brew is pretty easy to make and deliciously delivers a strong caffeine kick that can fuel you the entire day.
I made one batch last night and just finished my first home cold brew cup. I so love how it’s naturally caramelly. I used my Starbucks Dark Roasted Single Origin Honduras Marsala Beans that gives out a well-balanced flavor and caramel hint. Here’s a simple recipe you can try at home.
1.) 1 and 1/2 cups of coarsely ground coffee (for french press grind)
2.) 3-4 cups of water
1. Pour coffee grind and water on a container, stir it and leave on the fridge for about 12 hours.
2. After 12 hours, strain the brew in a container. It will yield to 2.5-3 cups of cold brew concentrate which can make 10- 15 servings of cold brew.
You can store the cold brew concentrate up to 14 days in the fridge.
To make a cup of cold brew:
In a glass with ice, add water or milk with the 1:1 ratio – 1/2 water or milk and 1/2 cold brew coffee concentrate for a strong brew, or 3/4 milk and 1/4 cold brew concentrate for a light, creamy brew.
Try it and tell me what you think about this recipe on the comment below.
