Cebu is known for its sweet, lighty tangy mangoes. Its dried version is a famous “pasalubong” – a sweet treat to bring back home after your Cebu vacation. I love mangoes, both the fresh and the dried, but I prefer the fresh fruit as it’s naturally sweet. It’s something that should be on your must-try list during your Cebu stay.
I recently had a foodtrip with my friends in Ktown and right after lunch, we decided to have dessert at a newly opened al fresco refreshment/dessert bar in an arcade along ML Quezon Highway Maribago. Mango Almighty is serving shakes and desserts made with FRESH MANGOES, unlike other refreshment bars that uses pureed mangoes, preserved with lots of sugar. A very convenient and refreshing way to try out the local fresh mango fruit, I must say.
We ordered the Mango Graham and Mango Heaven, each at P99. Mango Graham cup is made with layers of crushed grahams, graham bits, cream and mango cubes. Mango Heaven is made with mango tapioca and mango sorbet, but they ran out of sorbet during our visit so they topped it with fresh mango cubes instead. What I appreciate with Mango Almighty is that they take it easy on the sugar and uses the natural sweetness of the mango and the other ingredients.
The Mango Graham can be too sweet halfway the cup though, as the graham crackers in itself is sweet.
Can’t wait to try the Sweet Sticky Rice and The Native Sticky Rice which is topped with home made ice cream – sikwate and coconut.
Visit Mango Almighty at The Spot Maribago Coast Center Arcade 2 M.L Quezon National Highway, Maribago, Lapu-lapu City Cebu 6015. Open daily from 1:00PM to 9:30PM
